August 2008
I bought my second motorcycle in August of 2008. I owned another motorcycle years before hand, that was an 1963 (early model) Honda Scrambler 305cc. I spent 8 years customising that motorcycle until I finally gave it away to a bike shop in Vancouver, to be hung for show.
I swore than never again would I buy another used motorcycle. So, in 2008 I bought this Lifan 150-11 small sized motorcycle for S/.4500.00 which worked out to about $1500.00 USD. Which is built from a GZ250 Suzuki, frame and a lot of the parts are Suzuki's. Now after 10 years, this only has 16,450 Kms and I had issues with it, which I have over-come. I kept the original kick start, which I prefer better then electric start. When the bike starts, it does work pretty good. It has been now retro-fitted with some new technologies.
I have built 3 prototype devices that work awesome on my motorbike. Needless to say, I did get it everything to work and looks fantastic as well. Where the heck is all the customised motorcycle shops here in Lima, anyway? To tell you the true, I would probably design some pretty wicked customized motorcycles, if I had a shop here.
Still looking into changing the motor, to either a 250 cc or 300 cc single cylinder engine. Would like to keep the dual exhaust, so it will have to be a OHV (CG) style engine, otherwise, I will just go with a Suzuki GZ250 motor instead. More information about all the changes are listed on my blog. Please feel free to visit and get your customised parts from our links, thanks for stopping by. And if by chance your would like to donate, there is a link below, thank you again and have a great day.
